Frequently Asked Questions about Tassajara Prep

What is Tassajara Prep?

Tassajara Prep is a public charter high school planned for Dublin, California that will offer the qualities of a comprehensive college prep high school in a small, tuition-free learning community. We are committed to using proven best practice models and innovative approaches tailored to the needs of our community to create a high school choice in Dublin.

Where will the school be located?

While we initially plan to apply for Proposition 39 facilities in one of the Dublin Unified School District (DUSD)’s existing buildings, our vision is to create a state-of-the-art sustainable facility to house Tassajara Prep in east Dublin, which will eliminate the need for thousands of daily, cross-town car trips during peak hours, resulting in a huge reduction in traffic congestion, pollution, time and expense.

Do you have the support of parents, the community and local government to move forward with Tassajara Prep?

Yes, we have received a great deal of support, input, and positive feedback from our community. While the DUSD Board of Trustees, DUSD employees, and some Dublin High School faculty, alumni, and parents have orchestrated a very vocal opposition against Tassajara Prep, their arguments are the same ones that have been raised by school districts in many other California communities in their attempt to thwart charter schools which were later approved by the California State Board of Education and are now thriving. These arguments have been proven time and time again to be unfounded.
