Tassajara Preparatory High School (Tassajara Prep) is a tuition-free, public high school with a true college prep focus for a growing Dublin. The culture of Tassajara Prep is built around the notion of college success for all. Our students will explore new ways of solving problems, discover how they best learn, and challenge themselves in areas where they need to grow, as they learn the traditional academic disciplines. Based on the California State Standards and admission to the University of California system, our curriculum will prepare students for the rigors and challenges of a four-year college or university.
Independently operated by educators, parents, and community members, Tassajara Prep will offer a comprehensive high school experience at a small school setting. The faculty, staff, and administration of Tassajara Prep will empower our students to excel through high academic standards and challenging cocurricular activities in a safe and supportive environment. Enriched by the vibrant ethnic and cultural diversity of Dublin, our intimate class size will allow students at Tassajara Prep to develop leadership, teamwork, and social skills, explore new passions, and become comfortable with taking risks and achieving success.
Teachers at Tassajara Prep will all be expected to hold masters degrees in addition to their California teaching credentials, so they can teach college-accredited courses under the College Pathways Program. They will create long-term multi-disciplinary assignments aimed to show students the connections among the traditional academic disciplines.
Counselors at Tassajara Prep will play an integral part of our students’ development and success, starting in the 9th grade. Working closely with the teaching faculty, the counselors will be dedicated to meeting the needs of our students in all areas of academic advisement, college guidance, personal counseling, and career exploration.
Our graduates will be skilled communicators and critical thinkers who demonstrate a commitment to values of self-discipline, integrity, and responsibility. All of the students at Tassajara Prep will be moving on to a traditional four-year college. That is the high expectation we have for our students.
